Newington, but he was older than me so we never really hung out. As I got older, though, I'd run into him in the strangest of places. I remember dating a girl back in the early nineties who went to Southern Connecticut State. We were walking from the parking lot to her dorm at three o'clock in the morning and a cop drove over to us. Well guess who the cop was? Dana!" "Yeah," says Andrews. "I ended up becoming a police officer. I enjoyed it but it's not where my heart was. Again, I always had a passion for photography and hoped for a job where I could use my talent... and let's face it, crime scene photography was not what I had in mind." After much thought and contemplation, it was time for Andrews to finally realize this passion. He decided to attend college and earned his degree in Marketing with a Visual Media concentration. But Andrews wanted to learn more. After earning his B.A., he continued his education with a certificate in Visual Arts. "All of those

photography classes basically took what I already had a talent for and made me even better." Andrews says.

After continually running into Byron, it was only time that a friendship would be formed. "Gary kept telling me that he wanted to introduce me to this guy named Joe Elwell [Tone Zone's Senior Photographer] because we had supposedly so much in common." Byron interjects, "At the time, I wasn't even thinking of Dana working for Tone Zone. My only thought was that Dana and Joe would hit it off because their backgrounds are so similar." Elwell recalls his initial meeting with Andrews vividly, "I looked at Dana's portfolio and kept wondering why this guy isn't working for us? He had a number of weddings under his belt, which were all of high quality, and his portrait photography was exceptional." Andrews concludes, "And that's how I feel about

Joe's work! We continuously learn this trade from each other. We bounce ideas and discuss various approaches with work assignments. I am always striving to broaden my knowledge, so for me education and training is an ongoing process. It's taken me a long time to get to this point, but now I'm working for Tone Zone - a company I actually hired many years ago."

"I've had a love for photography going back to my early teens when I was given my father's old 35 millimeter camera and it was like someone giving me gold! Soon after that I assembled a functional darkroom in the family bathroom and I'd met my first love." says Dana Andrews, an elite photographer who prides himself on photographic composition. "I only wish I got into doing it professionally when I was in my twenties because I could've made a big name for myself."
